"Father?" Taryn looks to me like I have all the answers to life, the universe, and everything.

Alida harumphs. "Maybe, but he did burn down the church and you couldn't get me to go anywhere near that place. We'd be better to host the party in our make-shift church in the woods." She knows the others look to her for guidance. With so few females, they quickly become fast friends when a new woman arrives, and I can see she wants to find a bond with Taryn. Who doesn't?

"Burned down a church?" She always did like a little religion in her life. I'm not surprised she's angry over the desecration of holy ground. “He is so not invited to this party. What kind of an asshole is this guy?"

I avoid answering her question because now is not the time to explain. "Alida, I think the church in the woods will be perfect. We will create a new sacred circle. While the moon cannot yet shine down on us, we can hang the moonflowers from the branches and feel as though the goddess watches over us all."

Taryn makes a cute little moue at me with her lush lips. How I'd like to see them wrapped around my cock. "What exactly is the religion you are a holy man for?"

I choke on the air I breathe and August laughs, patting me on the back to help me recover.

August takes Taryn's hand and nods to me. "Let's show her your church, Father. A marking is a fitting way to christen a new sacred circle, don't you think?"

Taryn grips his hand tight enough that if I couldn't scent her nervousness rise up, I'd be able to see it in the tremor of her muscles. She doesn't let anyone else see.
